Certification and Honors

This is a modest list. My highest honor is the respect of those of my peers who know me personally, as well as the referrals former clients give of me to their colleagues and acquaintances.

1. Board Certified, National Association of Document Examiners.

I completed testing for certification at the 2000 NADE Conference in Albuquerque, NM, chaired by Judith Housley. The certificate was issued after the conference, and I completed the requirements for recertification after five years. The requirements for my original certification included:

  • Submission of application with references to attorneys who used my services; each of these was contacted directly by the Certification Committee.
  • Submission of CV and other professional materials.
  • Data on five court testimonies, for two of which depositions could be substituted.
  • Submission of work product from my case files.
  • Passing a written test.
  • Submission of a full, written report on a test case.
  • Satisfactory testimony at the 2000 NADE Conference in a moot court presided over by Justice Kennedy of New Mexico Court of Appeals.
  • The Certification Committee then confirmed satisfactory completion of all requirements and the Certification Committee voted to grant me Board Certification status. The Certificate was official once signed by President of NADE, Kathy Koppenhaver, and Certification Chair, Jacqueline Joseph.

2. In March 1992, I was granted honorary membership in National Questioned Document Association. The Association is now defunct.

3. Vanguard Network, Board Certified Handwriting Professional, 1998. This was an honorary designation.

4. Presently I am Parliamentarian for NADE and serve on the Certification Committee. Previously I served on the Ethics and Editorial Committees. I was Chair for the 1993 NADE Conference in San Francisco, CA.
